How do I run RestoreMyFiles? Either click on “Start Quick Scan” or “Advanced Scan” to start recovering deleted files.

Why won’t the program recover some of my files?

RestoreMyFiles has been designed to recover the remaining data on your hard disk. However, RestoreMyFiles is not designed to repair the content of deleted files.

A deleted file that is corrupted or partially re-used by the Windows operating system will not be readable. This is not a factor of the RestoreMyFiles software, but a factor of how the Windows operating systems will recycle part of (or the entire) deleted files. RestoreMyFiles does recover deleted files that remain intact in your hard disk.

What drives will RestoreMyFiles detect?

RestoreMyFiles will be able to scan any drive shown in the ‘Hard Disk Drives’ section of ‘My Computer’ (except network). This includes:

USB External drives

Removable Flash drives

ZIP drives

Floppy drives

My operating system is gone, can I still recover my files?

Unfortunately, at this point in time, once the operating system is gone, recovering deleted files is a real problem and RestoreMyFiles will not be able to perform its task.

However you can try attaching the hard drive in question to another computer as a secondary drive. If the drive is being detected as a volume (c:, d:, e: etc) you may try a ‘Physical Scan’.

Physical scan: Scan the whole HDD regardless if the space is allocated or not, formatted or not. This potentially will detect files in un-partitioned space on the HDD.

When using the Windows operating system, when a file is deleted from the Recycle Bin or if the Recycle Bin is bypassed altogether then the file can no longer be recovered by Windows. The way in which Windows works means that the content of the file still remains on the drive, relatively intact, until the section of the drive it occupies is overwritten by another file at some time.

RestoreMyFiles identifies the contents of such lost files on the hard drive and allows you to recover them. In situations where a file has been partially overwritten the software attempts to reconstruct as much of the file as possible with the remaining contents. This allows you to salvage at least part, if not all, of that recovered file to continue using it as required.

Whether you are a home or business user RestoreMyFiles gives you peace of mind when it comes to data recovery.

Recover deleted files from memory cards

The software is designed to be fast using its rapid scan engine which means that a typical hard drive can be scanned for recoverable files within minutes.

Scan all files and directories on selected hard drives.

It’s flexible, search for a recoverable file using all or part of a file name.

The software uses a sophisticated non-destructive, read-only file recovery approach. This means that it will not write or make changes to the section of the drive from which it is recovering data.

You can recover multiple files in one action using a batch recovery mode.

The software works around bad-sector disk areas which can be a real obstacle to file recovery and consequently recovers data where other programs fail.

Supports all of the standard types of hard drives, including IDE/ATA/SCSI hard drives. The software also deals with large drives into the hundreds of gigabytes of storage capacity

Supports hard drives formatted with Windows FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS file systems, which covers all likely scenarios where you will need to recover data on a PC
